Thursay and Friday 9/10 October episodes

Yes, I’m rolling these two into one, because they are both exceedingly irritating me. Oh, how I am longing for the explosions next week will bring, but, oh, how irritating these ‘Kidnappings’ are!
Calvin leaves Carmel, to go…somewhere…. I don’t know where, and I don’t think it’s really relevant. It’s simply so that Carmel can dissappear and have noone really notice or care.
Calvin is getting stressed out about seeing police at The Loft, and starts getting all emo about the fact he thinks he’s killed a drug dealer, despite not having seen the body, or actually having any evidence that he’s dead, and even though all he did was punch him, he trusts Warrens word??!? Which I suppose, to be fair, he has no choice other than to do that.
So, he leaves Carmel upset, and at the end we see another pink post-it note, saying that Carmel has ‘Gone on a spa holiday’. I’m a tad confused. Assuming, Niall is leaving these notes, which judging by fridays ending, he is, and as they are all in the same handwriting, how did Niall know that Calvin had gone anywhere, and that Carmel wouldn’t be particuarly missed? How is he getting into these peoples houses without being seen to leave the post-it notes? Does noone not stop and think ‘Hold on, that’s not Carmels/michaelas/Mercedes handwriting!’

I mentioned yesterday the blatant flaws in michaela’s note, to be fair, Carmels isn’t quite as bad, except, were I lauren I would wonder how she had booked time off work so quickly.
Mercedes exit is where it is made clear to us as the viewer, had we not read all of the spoilers, that Niall is behind this, as we see him put a bag over Mercedes head, and bundle her into a van. Then Myra finds a post it note, pink, in the same handwriting, saying ‘Taken your advice and gone away for a couple of days’.

This is immediately after Mercedes had been talking to Malachy. Malachy is probably one of the best characters given to us this year, he enters a bricky, a womaniser, a homophobe, a sexist, and a man-whore. He has sex with Mercedes despite being well aware he is carrying AIDS, and yet still I love him. You just feel so strongly for this guy, because you can see, beneath all of that who he really is. He is a typical ‘Jack the Lad’ and we all know someone like him, and we all can relate to him, and we can see that every bad thing about him is typical of an insecure male. It’s a combination of great writing, and some great acting.

There’s some other stuff going down at HO right now too, but I tend to forget about it, because it’s not really so interesting as the McQueen stuff, but I’ll give you the basic idea.

Russ and Tina, who are suddenly in some kind of ready made marriage/relationship type thing, are struggling to find anything in common. Russ is feeling a little trapped, and like his life is over.
Tina suggests that her and Russ find somewhere else to live after a load of students come back with Nancy and Russ after a drunken night out. I’ve never known anything like this Tina/Russ thing that’s suddenly going on. I don’t know why two people who aren’t interested in each other at all are in a relationship and living together just because Russ is the father of her child after a one night stand.
It’s probably more unrealistic than every part of Nialls storyline put together.
